Hi Brittany,
I'm just reading this. I am so sorry you were so upset; I would have written to you earlier if I had seen this sooner. You wrote this on March 6, 2025. Godzilla passed away on February 13, 2025, but I had been taking care of her day and night since before Christmas.
At the end of 2021, I caught COVID and was in the ICU for two weeks. They actually put me on comfort care — where they gave me morphine and took me off life support after bringing me a laptop to say goodbye to my friends and family. The nurses in the ICU called it a Christmas miracle when I woke up.
The recovery has been hard, I'll admit. Physically, my strength came back, but my stamina still hasn't recovered, even after nearly five years. Mentally, it's not easy coming back from two weeks of hearing and seeing people die all around you. Even so, after I came back from the ICU, I launched in Walmart Supercenters to make organic skincare available to people who usually have to drive two hours to have the same options as big cities.
Some people tell me to just get another cat. It's really not that simple when you gave up everything that makes you happy for a mission you have believed in since 2007, and you didn't realize how much joy and happiness a little derpy furball gave you. You have no idea how much comfort my cat gave me when things were really, really hard. Indeed, I'm not sure I would've started if I had known how hard it was going to be.
Where you spend your hard-earned money is entirely your choice. But please don't assume that someone is lazy, lying, or has bad intentions. They might actually just be having a really rough time silently, offline.
Take care, Jean
